2012 Eyes on the Future Economic Summit

Wednesday, May 23 at St. John Fisher College

Rochester, N.Y. – Innovation expert Tom Kelley will provide the keynote address at the 2012 Eyes on the Future Economic Summit on Wednesday, May 23 at St. John Fisher College. Co-hosted by Greater Rochester Enterprise and the Small Business Council of Rochester, the event is free and open to the public.

Author of two best-selling books, “The Art of Innovation” and “The Ten Faces of Innovation,” Kelley is the general manager at IDEO, an internationally-renowned innovation and design firm. IDEO is credited with creating innovative products and campaigns that include the Apple Mouse, the Ford Hybrid digital dashboard and Bank of America’s “Keep the Change” program. Kelley will also share insight into IDEO’s work with global brands such at Pepsi-Cola, Marriott, and Proctor & Gamble. His keynote address will focus on actions local business leaders can implement to create innovative, transformational change within their own organizations to drive growth.

This is the 5th Eyes On The Future Economic Summit. On average, the event draws more than 1,000 business leaders from throughout the Greater Rochester, N.Y. region. This year’s Summit will once again feature the Eyes Expo, a premier business networking event that showcases the region’s innovative organizations. The Eyes Expo opens at 7 a.m., and Kelley’s keynote begins at 8:30 a.m.

“The Summit is an important opportunity to take the pulse of our economy and discuss how to best work together to keep it growing,” said Small Business Council of Rochester President Jeffrey Clark. “Tom Kelley’s expertise in out-of-the-box creative thinking and innovative management techniques are something we can all benefit from as our economy continues to grow in 2012.”
